Halloween

Alia helped get the girls ready for Halloween by doing their makeup. I'm so glad this is the only time the little girls can wear makeup. I'm dreading when they turn into teenagers.

Anyhow, their Halloween costumes turned out.

Here is Olivia as a devil.

Pheasant Hunting

10/23/09 Rocky decided to do some hunting this morning. He was able to shoot one of these cocks. I'm not quite sure what type of bird it is, oh yeah I think it's a pheasant. But I sure do think it's pretty. I don't know when he plans on cooking it but it's sitting in our freezer all de-feathered and gutted. He said pheasant tastes pretty good. I guess we'll see.

My hunter. At least I feel confident that would could survive.

Hunting

Yesterday, Rocky & I decided to walk over to our neighbors and find some rabbits to hunt. Our neighbor has about 80 acres so we did a little bit of walking. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the rabbits that were a plenty the other day. Must have been the chicken hawk that scared them into hiding. But there were tons of quail and Rocky wished he would have brought his 12 gauge. Oh well, next time.

Shooting at some quail.

There's just something about this picture that just makes me want to purr. ;0P

No luck today, heading home.

Summer Fun

August 21, 2009 the only time we were able to make it to the lake with the jet skis. Here we are enjoying the last of the warm weather and the water. Me with the girls.

Carving Pumpkins

Our second annual pumpkin carving with Summer and the kids. We are going to make this a Halloween tradition. Our kids picking out their designs and getting ready to dig in.

The mess begins.

Sora transferring her design. Olivia already starting to carve.

Hayden half way through and Shasta just beginning.

Our kids are so much fun! Their carved pumpkins.

Olivia's to the left. Sora's in the middle. yeah, we aren't really sure what she carved. It started out as a mummy, then turned to a moon, then well this big hole. She said she was thinking outside the box (or should I say pumpkin). Nonetheless, it's her imagination and I love it when they are creative.

Hayden's to the left and Shasta's to the right. Both have some pretty freaky looking eyeballs in them.

Mine to the left and Summer's to the right.

I know, I'm sorry. There are tons of pictures and I just couldn't decide which ones to post and which not to. So here we are holding our pumpkins.

Okay, so funny story I have to post because it made me pee my pants. The kids were outside playing vampires and were on the trampoline. So Summer said we should scare the kids. We tried to find our Jason mask, well we couldn't so she decided to put pantyhose on her head. We were in my room getting ready when we heard the kids come in the house towards my room. So Summer started to run into the closet to hide from them so they couldn't see the hose on her face. But funny thing is she couldn't really see and ran into the wall. I couldn't stop laughing. It was hilarious! Definitely the highlight of my night. Thanks Summer for the good times!

Caramel Apples

So we decided to make caramel apples this year. Below are the kids being silly.
Olivia, Shasta, Hayden & Sora.

Summer preparing the caramel. Ummmm!

We had peanut butter chips, heath chips, & oreo cookie crumbs to dip the caramel apples in. So much sugar but so good.

The finished product and oh some yummy!
