All the Pumpkins

(Top -Bottom) Alia's Pumpkin, Victoria's Pumpkin

(Top -Bottom) Summer's Pumpkin, Sora's Pumpkin

(Top -Bottom) Shasta's Pumpkin, Mashaide's Pumpkin

(Top -Bottom) Olivia's Pumpkin, Hayden's Pumpkin

All of them together.

Carving Pumpkins

Before. The start of our messy but fun escapade.
This was a really cool dremol tool Summer brought for the carving fest but it was terribly messy.
Yeah, I just got finished painting the walls behind me white and yes, some of the pumpkin skin ended up on the walls. This tool flung pumpkin everywhere. Next time we'll have to put some covering on the table or use this tool outside.
The end results were definitely worth the mess.
After.

Haunted House

We had a wonderful weekend and tons of fun with some friends making a haunted house, carving pumpkins & just hanging out. This is Sora with Shasta (Summer's daughter).

This is Olivia with her best bud Hayden (Summer's son)

They all worked so well together. They decided on their own that the pairs would be Olivia & Hayden, Sora & Shasta. They decided that Olivia & Hayden would put the house together & decorate the walkway. Sora & Shasta would get to decorate the house. I just love it when they make their own decisions with no fighting or arguing and everyone is happy about the outcome.
It was quite messy.
Nearing completion.

They demolished it and started eating it before I could take a picture of the final product.

So the haunted house had this black icing which we ended up putting on our lips. Hayden had the orange icing on his since he was the only boy. It didn' go on so easy and was pretty disgusting once it dried.

Celebrity Collage by MyHeritage

http://www.myheritage.com/collage

Just wanted to post another one just to show the difference.

Celebrity Collage by MyHeritage

I just thought it would be interesting to see who I look like. A little misleading though because it really depends on the picture you choose and the position of your face. It was fun though.

Continue Importance of FRIENDS

"Friendship is one mind in two bodies." - Mencius
As soon as I saw this quote I thought about Summer. It's simple, sweet and straight to the point. Exactly how Summer is, this one's for her.

Summer

You know the feelings you have in summer time? Bright, warm, playful, cheerful, etc. Well those are the feelings I have around this amazing woman. We have only known each other for about a year and a half but it seems the moment we met we've known each other for a lifetime. Summer was there for me throughout the entire planning of my wedding reception. I can not thank her enough for all the help and support. She makes everything beautiful and always has a smile! I love you Summer!
This is a picture of us at her wedding reception held at their house in July 2007.

Importance of FRIENDS

"A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart, and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words." ~ Unknown
This week I'm going to post some of my closest friends and a quote that I think explains our friendship. This one is for Lisa.

My Skrizzy

I just love this lady! I was just thinking about her and how much I miss her. Even though she lives so far away from me, I still feel her love and support. She means the world to me and having a wonderful friend like this makes life wonderful! I couldn't ask for a more loving, understanding, kind, caring, fun, and more friend. Love you Lisa!
This is a picture of when she flew from L.A. to Reno to be there for me when Rocky and I were married. She flew from L.A. even though there wasn't a guarantee we were going to get married.

3rd Grade Music Program

Here are some pictures from Sora's 3rd Grade Music Program. It was about community and the people in your community. About being a good community builder. So the children were supposed to dress up as people in their community. She dressed up as a teacher, hence the glasses. This is her singing and dancing. She's still smaller then the rest of her classmates even with 1 1/2 inches added from her shoes.
A close up...notice no lenses in the glasses. Funny girl.

Growing Up

So Alia is already 15 1/2 and going to her first Homecoming Dance. She went with a good friend of hers that she has known since elementary, Neko. Grama Pat took her dress shopping and well it's hard swallowing the fact that they grow so fast. Here are some pictures of her.

Pumpkin Bread

So I decided to let the girls do some more baking and cooking. It's hard to let them in the kitchen because I just don't like the mess they make or having to worry about them cleaning it up. Actually, I think it's more of the fact that I like to do things myself. But in order for me to be a good mother, example and teacher I have to let them do things on their own. So I decided to let the three of them bake pumpkin bread. Even though it was from a box it's still good practice for them.
This is them making their witch faces because they think they are cooking up a nasty brew.

DIY & HGTV

So I never should have watched these two channels on TV. I always told myself I would never be one of those people who get hooked on a TV show and just have to watch it. But I tell you, I'm having a hard time staying away from some of the shows on these channels. I love to make my home beautiful and inviting. A place that my family wants to come home to and others want to visit. I love doing projects myself and being able to say, "See what I did on my own."

I watch Design to sell, Home equity, Desperate Landscapes, Do it yourself renovations, the list goes on. I get my notebook and write down some of the things I learn, my wish lists, what I want to change in our house, how I'm going to do it. etc. Rocky thinks I'm a nut. But just you wait...my house will one day be everything I want it to be.

I just finished painting the entry way and hallways. It's still a cream color but oh the ideas I have. I want to change all the light switches and plugs to a white instead of these yellowish ugly color. But something that will have to wait. $$$ is a big factor right now so can't do much. I'll post some pictures of my projects as I move forward. Time is another huge factor. Don't have much of that either. Speaking of, I need to get back to work. Until next time.
