2011-01-03 Our baby's first New Year

Our little boy is getting so big. Not yet a year old but so much personality. We just love the faces he makes and the joy he brings into our lives.
Chewing on a piece of meat.

Here he is with Uncle Hayden who is so good to him.

Not yet walking but getting around pretty good and fast. No problems standing up.

Twinkle Toes & Runaway Snowbaby

Olo is so much fun. I never tire of watching him. He is constantly on his toes.

I tired to dress him up and gets some photos in this cute little snowman outfit but Olo was having none of it. So this is the best shot I got. I call him runaway snowbaby. He just wouldn't sit for me.

Ouch!

So I took Olo with me to the post office and instead of carrying his entire car seat with him in it, I just took him out. He was all bundled up because it was cold and icy out. While returning to the truck with the mail in one arm and baby in the other. I slip. And well it's inevitable, I fall.

It was the strangest feeling because it was like it was in slow motion but not. It's like I could picture the baby hitting his head on the ice and I'm thinking how on earth can I prevent that from happening. So I tried to slow down the fall by trying to fall on my knees and roll. Unfortunately, it didn't happen that way. I still ended up falling forward and unable to catch myself . Baby was in my left arm and good thing he was all bundled in a thick jacket because I think that's what kept him from hitting his head. Thank Heaven! He cried a little because it scared him . . . so did I.

The van parked next to me had a lady in the passenger seat. She opened her door and asked if we were alright. I told her we were fine.

I recover quickly open my door put the mail down. Open the back passenger door. Buckle baby in. And try to collect myself. So while I'm trying to put the baby in this guy comes up and tells me to close my doors (the van parked to my left). I'm thinking, the nerve of him. I just fell with my son in my arms. You have a van which the door slides open, it's not like you need room to open it up. Besides there was enough room even with my doors open. So I slam my doors shut and just glare.

Anyhow, it really did hurt and even though I had jeans on I somehow still scraped my knees. I know it looks like a little scratch but it hurt worse than it looks. All I can say is I'm glad the baby didn't get hurt.

Obviously, falling didn't really affect him. He still figures out a way to push things around and climb up on them.

Obstacles

Like I said, he just refuses to go around. So up and over it is.

Even if it makes him unhappy.

Silly boy!

Big Eyes

Just had to post this because I love how big my baby's eyes are.

His eyes are still beautiful even when he's not happy with me.

Watching our baby grow is so much fun! It's mesmerizing to watch his mind think. I never grow tired of watching him. He is so inquisitive. He's also very strong. As you can tell from this picture of him hanging on to the shelf. He loves to climb and it seems like he never tires. He just keeps going and going.

I love his big eyes and his beautiful, captivating smile.

He's such a funny baby. He does not go around things. He will go through and over but not around. It's almost like he enjoys a challenge and would rather take the harder route than the easier one. Wonder if this is a sign for the future.

Most of all I just love him with all my heart! What a blessing!

Mean Little Guy

Well at least that's the way it looks. Oloiso looks like he has this smug little look on his face and he's crawling away like he just did something to Brielle. And poor Brielle has tears down her cheeks.

Ahhhh.

Well now they are playing together. Little stinkers.
There is definitely a difference between boys & girls.

5th Doctors Appt

I guess I didn't blog about his 4th doctors appointment. Maybe because I didn't have pictures so I'll just put his stats in here for my journal purposes.
Age 4 months 1 day
Weight 11.87 lbs (3.83 Percentile)
Length 23.5 inches (6.77 Percentile)
Head Circumference 15.75 inches (6.35 Percentile)
The below pictures are from his 5th doctors appointment that was supposed to be done at 6 months but I didn't get him in until he was 8 months. Oops!
Age 8 months 8 days
Weight 15.12 lbs (0.8 Percentile)
Length 26 inches (3.52 Percentile)
Head Circumference 17.25 inches (19.12 Percentile)
Okay well maybe he isn't growing in length and weight but at least his head is growing. Big Head!
Waiting to get his shots.
This little boy is so strong. Got his shots, let out a yelp and that was it.
He must be strong like his mommy.
His cute little thick thighs all poked up like he was a pin cushion.
