Day 3 in Saint Charles, IL

Norton Farms. This is where Carly wanted to take the girls. They had quite a few things for the kids to do. A little maze.

To make it a little more exciting we turned it into a race. Look at Olivia cheating.

Sora & Olivia.

The tractor, pumpkins.

A scarecrow, haystack.

The girls being silly.

Finding the needle in the haystack, a train.

They had a few animals you could pet as well.
All in all the girls had a wonderful time hanging out with their cousin, Carly.
Nohno (mom) making rolls for dinner. That's how they do it back home.

Our Athlete

This year Sora wanted to play volleyball after school. Of course we had no objections. We love it when the kids want to be involved in sports. Anyways, her stance below is what she was taught. She was very diligent on following through with what she was taught. This is her first volleyball game.

Her going for the ball.

Her bumping the ball from the back row.

She did really good for her first time.

All Islander Softball Tournament

The All Islander Softball Tournament was hosted in Reno, Nevada this year. Pictured below is Rocky's team. We played at a new softball complex this year and the fields were made of that new astro turf stuff. Very different to play on.
Jesse playing third base for his team.
Rocky got a bad hop while playing catcher, the ball split his brow open and gave him a nice shiner. In all the years I've watched him play, I've never seen him get hurt. But he toughed it out and continued to play through out the tournament. What a trooper!
Captured some moments with Kodi and his baby brother.
All of us getting ready to go to the banquet. (Left to Right: Me, Oloiso, Meka, Mallory, Rocky, Kodi & Nate). My honey & I.
Our sweet little boy slept through all the dancing, singing, noise, etc.
The ladies receiving their second place award. Woohoo! I won't mention that there were only two teams playing. Ya, that's our secret to winning trophies. Ha!
Rocky & the his team receiving their second place trophy. But at least with them they had 10 teams. So they really did earn theirs.

Pheasant Hunting

10/23/09 Rocky decided to do some hunting this morning. He was able to shoot one of these cocks. I'm not quite sure what type of bird it is, oh yeah I think it's a pheasant. But I sure do think it's pretty. I don't know when he plans on cooking it but it's sitting in our freezer all de-feathered and gutted. He said pheasant tastes pretty good. I guess we'll see.

My hunter. At least I feel confident that would could survive.

Hunting

Yesterday, Rocky & I decided to walk over to our neighbors and find some rabbits to hunt. Our neighbor has about 80 acres so we did a little bit of walking. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the rabbits that were a plenty the other day. Must have been the chicken hawk that scared them into hiding. But there were tons of quail and Rocky wished he would have brought his 12 gauge. Oh well, next time.

Shooting at some quail.

There's just something about this picture that just makes me want to purr. ;0P

No luck today, heading home.

Friday, July 3rd we started the tournament. There were a total of 10 teams that showed up. They came from Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Utah. It was a three game guarantee with a double elimination.
The prayer before the games & the guys first huddle.

Our grand-daughter playing with Dishane. Rocky already worn out.

My honey & me.

Just some pics from the tournament.
