Colors of Fall

11/01/09 We decided we needed to do a little yard work. And since it was such a beautiful day we took advantage of it and raked leaves.

My handsome husband

Our beautiful Sora

Our beautiful Olivia

Our dog, Saudalor, trying to get in on the action but causing more trouble then helping.

One of our cats, X, we call her that because she is cross eyed. It's so cute. Our other cat is a boy and we call him "O". So we have X and O.

And the beautiful colors of fall

Pheasant Hunting

10/23/09 Rocky decided to do some hunting this morning. He was able to shoot one of these cocks. I'm not quite sure what type of bird it is, oh yeah I think it's a pheasant. But I sure do think it's pretty. I don't know when he plans on cooking it but it's sitting in our freezer all de-feathered and gutted. He said pheasant tastes pretty good. I guess we'll see.

My hunter. At least I feel confident that would could survive.

Hunting

Yesterday, Rocky & I decided to walk over to our neighbors and find some rabbits to hunt. Our neighbor has about 80 acres so we did a little bit of walking. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the rabbits that were a plenty the other day. Must have been the chicken hawk that scared them into hiding. But there were tons of quail and Rocky wished he would have brought his 12 gauge. Oh well, next time.

Shooting at some quail.

There's just something about this picture that just makes me want to purr. ;0P

No luck today, heading home.

A Favorite Past Time

One of the weekends we were sick Rocky and I just decided to spend the day reading. It was just so nice to hang out together and read.

My Husband Rocks

Prompt/Theme for Friday, February 20, 2009

Share your favorite "married moment" from the past couple of weeks. Anything that was special, made you smile, or made you feel all "warm and fuzzy" :)

It's amazing how it just seems our relationship just continues to grow and grow. Sometimes I think we are as close as we could ever be, then something will happen or be said that makes us that much closer.

January 25th Rocky and I were driving back from the store and I asked him if he ever felt that he loved someone so much he could never love another again. I think I got that question from some movie I watched recently. Anyway, his answer to me was, "Yes, when you were dancing for me at our wedding reception. You looked so beautiful and you were mine." He continued to tell me that I am an amazing woman and he couldn't ask for anyone better. And knowing that everyone else wishes they had someone as beautiful and wonderful as me and knowing that I was all his, makes him feel good.

He also told me the first time he realized how much he loved me was our first trip to Hawaii. We were holding each other watching hula dancers at our hotel. Then we went walking down the blvd and he said he was so proud that he had the most beautiful amazing woman in the world in his arms.

Okay, if that didn't make me smile, feel special or "warm and fuzzy" than I must be dead. As a matter of fact it made me tear up and it was so meaningful to me that I had to write in my journal as soon as we got home. That's how come I have the actual date he said this to me.

My Husband Rocks

Katy Lin's prompt & challenge are in black and my responses are in white.

Prompt/Theme for Friday, February 13, 2009

1. Tell the story of your first Valentine's Day together.

I don't exactly remember our first Valentine's Day, is that sad? The one I remember the most was the third Valentine's Day together in 2001. I think I remember this one the most because so far it was my favorite. Rocky surprised me by having me pack a bag for a night and he took me to this bed and breakfast just outside of town. It was in the middle of no where. It was a large beautiful home with several different theme rooms. We chose the western style room. It was just wonderful to get out of town and be alone with him. There is also another reason why this particular Valentine's was special to me. I worked really hard to find a suiting gift to give him but I didn't have money at the time. So I found a picture of him and I that I really liked and decided to draw it for him in pencil. I did the best I could but he loved it. You'll see my drawing below and the picture I used.

2. In reference to the first article, which "secrets" do you do well, which could you work on, which do you struggle with?

Anyone who knows Rocky knows that probably the best person for him is someone who can "fight the battle between your ears". I believe one of the "secrets" or qualities I'm good at is being able to forgive and not hold grudges. We all make mistakes and if we can love the person and accept them for who they are and not what we want them to be can do amazing things for your relationship. Also, what I believe and perceive about my husband reflects in our relationship and how he feels about himself.

My husband is very good at bringing happiness to our relationship especially when things are down or we are stessing. He's very good at saying, "Let's take a break and get out of here." He's also very good at taking me out on dates and wining and dining me. I just love him!

3. If you decide to take the advice of the second article, tell us what you're going to do, or share pictures if you have time!

This article has some really good advice as to improving your romance factor. Although some of you who know Rocky may not believe it but he is very romantic. We already incorporate most of the advice in this article in our daily lives.

So here is the drawing I did for Rocky in 2001. I know, it's not the greatest and you can't really see all the finer details. I scanned it several times and this is the best I could do. Below is the actual picture.

Challenges:

1. Even though I do not always agree with the commercial hype of Valentine's Day, take advantage of the excuse to be especially romantic and dote upon your hubby!

2. Even after Valentine's Day is over, be intentional about showing genuine kindness and tenderness to your husband!

Why I LOVE my Husband (Reason #3)

So I won't go into too much detail because I'm a little exhausted but I wanted to post this tonight. My husband has been in Salt Lake City on some business for the past couple days and I miss him terribly. I am feeling a little down tonight because of some very bad news we received. I won't go into the details but it made me a little emotional. It might be because I miss my husband too that I was a little more sensitive than usual.
Anyhow, even with the miles between us he still makes me feel secure. He assured me everything will be alright and as soon as he got home he would hold me. He told me we would make it through together, we always have. He said to stay strong and we'll figure something out. It was very comforting to hear those words and to feel a little bit of peace knowing that I wasn't going through this alone.
One of the many reasons why I love my husband is because he is so positive and can make me feel better about the struggles we have coming.

Why I LOVE my Husband (Reason #2)

So my husband says to me the other day that he thinks we should go on a date once a week. I look at him in surprise. If you know Rocky this would be a surprise to you too. All I could say was, "Uh huh," as I look at him cautiously, wondering where or when the punch line will come. Then he says that he thinks he should help me once a week in the kitchen. Whether it's make dinner or wash dishes. Now...I'm a little suspicious. He goes on to say that it's good for relationships. Of course my next response is, "Well I'm not opposed to any of this." He also says that we should switch each week. He takes me on a date one week, then the next week it's my turn to take him on a date. He also says that we don't have to spend money for it to be considered a date. We could go for a walk, hang out together, etc.

I'm in awe and wondering where this is coming from. So I ask him. He says that in his first marriage over 25 years ago that he went to a newlywed class. That is where he heard all of this. Again, surprised that he is wanting to apply this to our relationship and the fact that he remembers these things from so long ago.

I wanted to be able to record this event by taking pictures but I forgot my camera. Besides he thought it was silly because I kept saying it was our first date. He kept reminding me that we have dated before and technically have been for the last 10 years.

So the first week we ended up doing some Christmas shopping and trying this pho (sp?) soup at a Tai restaurant. It was delicious! It was refreshing to say we were on a date and to be able to spend some quality time together.

The next week we did more Christmas shopping and ate soup at the Olive Garden. I can't wait to see what next week brings us.

One of the many reasons why I love my husband is because he never ceases to amaze or surprise me.

Why I LOVE my Husband (Reason #1)

So, I've decided one of my goals is I'm going to keep a diary of all the reasons why I love my husband. I just want him to know all the reasons why he means so much to me and all the little things I notice that make him the man he is. Plus he'll never have to wonder why I'm attracted to him or why I love him. Just for reference this is not the top reason it's just the first entry I've made.

Here it goes...Last week my husband had to drive to Pocatello which is about three and half hours from here. Our driver that drives the route that goes from Pocatello, ID to Butte, MT then to Three Forks, MT on down to Ennis, Yellowstone and back to Pocatello, ID had to leave because a family emergency. Therefore, to save our company money Rocky decided to drive this route for a week.

After the week was over he decided to stay to find another driver to take over some of the stops that was making this a 12 hour route. So he wanted me to drive down to Pocatello to spend the weekend with him.

Even though he was so excited to see me Friday night he was just completely wiped out from the odd hours and lack of sleep. So, I just let him sleep. The next morning when he woke, I saw his beautiful smile which just made his eyes sparkle. One of the many reasons why I love my husband is because he’s always so excited to see me.
