1st Day in Saint Charles, IL

Sora, relaxing in Auntie Kimiya & Uncle John's house.

Dad & Baby getting so much needed rest. When we arrived that evening, Oloiso cried for about 3 hours straight. I don't know if was the flight or being in unfamiliar surroundings but he was not happy. I think he finally wore himself out. Now he's trying to catch up on lost sleep. If only mommy could do that.

The girls playing volleyball in the back yard. Isn't that a cute little play house? Wish I had something that cool when I was a little girl.

At dinner with the family.

Chicago, We have arrived!

Rocky & I decided the last minute that we would all fly Grama Kiniya back to Chicago. We had saved up miles on our rewards so it was nice to not have to pay for airline tickets. So we all, Grama, Dad, Me, Sora, Olivia and Oloiso flew to Chicago. Baby did really well on the flight but it was a long day for all of us. But guess what was waiting for us when we arrived? Auntie Kimiya always treats us right. She had a limo waiting for us which is nice since it's a one hour ride to their home in Saint Charles. Here are the girls rolling rock star style.

Grama.

Daddy.

So the funny thing that happened is when we arrive to Saint Charles and pull up to the house. Mind you it's about 12:00 am in the morning. Rocky goes up to the door and starts ringing the doorbell. A man's voice asks who it is at the intercom. Rocky told him it was us and the guy was acting like he didn't know who we were. In the meantime, the limo driver is unloading our luggage. I get up to the door and Rocky asks the man if this is the Matthews home. The guy told him no. We turned around and asked the limo driver if he got the right address. He went to double check his instructions and said oops I thought the last number was a 2. Kimiya's house was like four more houses down. Great! So we woke up her neighbor in the wee hours of the morning. Fun stuff.

Chillin'

Daddy playing with his Ipad and Oloiso intently watching. I just had to capture this pose. I thought it was so cute because he looks so laid back.

Early Mornings

Ah ha! I caught you. This is our early morning between 3:00 am and 5:00 am. Oloiso gets up and won't go back to sleep. So I put his baby can read video's on and he watches them.

This is his new pose. Daddy loves it when he does this.

Do you notice how tired he looks? Yeah, that would be my son, fighting sleep. Do you think he has some Olayan blood? By the way, look how strong his little arms are. He just pushes himself right up even when he is exhausted. Crazy kid!

Or maybe this is why he can't sleep...Dad you are in so much trouble! Feeding baby ice cream. That's it! You're taking care of him tonight. Yeah right.

Our Athlete

This year Sora wanted to play volleyball after school. Of course we had no objections. We love it when the kids want to be involved in sports. Anyways, her stance below is what she was taught. She was very diligent on following through with what she was taught. This is her first volleyball game.

Her going for the ball.

Her bumping the ball from the back row.

She did really good for her first time.

Laughing

Are you tired yet of seeing pictures of this little guy? I know, I'm obsessed. But look how cute he is. I can't help it. And if you waited 17 years for him, I'm sure you'd be doing the same thing. I think I take a picture of him almost every day. Ya, that's obsession. Maybe I need to see a professional about that?
He's still a tiny little thing. People think he's a doll dressed up when I take him out because he's so little. I guess the bald head doesn't help either. Oh well, he's my little doll. Boy doll that is.

Oloiso and his older brother, Kodi.

Check out this cute video of my baby laughing. Trina, my grand-daughter, was making him laugh so we had to catch it on video.
