Santa Rocky

I had to post this for those who don't know my husband. This is how kind-hearted he can be. I gave him money to go buy this gun he wanted for his Christmas present. Instead he took the money to go buy gifts for his cooks children because he wanted to make sure they had some gifts. One of the many reasons I love my husband because he can be so generous.

His friend John Carlson went with him shopping and we decided to wrap the gifts over at their house on 12/21/09.

Working together.

This would be how Rocky would wrap all the gifts if he could. Newspaper and duct tape.

Thanks John & Tracy for the use of your house and helping with the gift wrapping.

Sora's Birthday

Sora turned 10 this year, December 21, 2009. But we celebrated her birthday on Saturday the 19th. She got to take a few friends to Wahooz from 12:00 to 3:00 pm and play games and celebrate. Later at Grama Pat's we celebrated with family and had cake and ice cream. Our little princess is growing up way too fast. =0(

Blowing out her candles.

Playing with her friend (oh I'm sorry her BEST friend) RaeLynn.

Daddy & his little-big girl.

What a good daddy letting the girls polish his nails while he eats cake & ice cream.

Pink & Purple...just the colors I would have picked.

Her surprised look opening her gift.

Her bubble gum machine. If anyone knows Sora, she loves gum. So when Rocky and I were shopping for Christmas presents we saw this in Toys 'R us and said this would be the perfect gift for her. We also decided since it takes money to get gum she could earn the money. Plus she would be saving the money because you have to take the entire machine apart to get to the money. We'll see how it works.

The bubble gum to go with it.

It's so sad to see the girls growing up. But wonderful to see the beautiful young ladies they will be. We cherish this moments with them.

Ear Piercing

Sora has wanted to get her ears pierced for the longest time but was told she could not until she was 10 years old. So for her 10th birthday, this was one of our gifts to her. December 19, 2009 a couple days before her birthday we took her to Claires to get her ears pierced. She's so excited!

First ear, a little pinch.

Second ear, hurt a little bit more than the first.

She picked her birthstone, December for her ear rings.

Student of the Week - Olivia

December 16, 2009 Olivia got student of honor. The week prior Sora received this award. This week Olivia received it. The principal presented Olivia with the award and stated that she is the only second grade student that received this award for Trust.

Principal and Dad handing Olivia her certificate.

Congratulations Olivia! We are so proud.

Olivia and I. Oh and she wanted pizza for lunch. So that's what we brought her.

Student of the Week - Sora

12/09/09
This year Parkridge Elementary is doing their student of the week a little different. They are choosing students based on character traits. They discuss those traits the week before and the teacher decides which child they feel meets those qualities.

This week was TRUST. Sora's teacher says Sora is a very truthful person. She gives credit to others when they deserve it. She admits when she makes a mistake and tries to do better. All this makes her a wonderful student who can be trusted and who shows responsibility in all areas.

We must be doing something right as parents, right? We are very proud of her.

Students of Honor get to have lunch at the Student of the Week table and they can invite whomever they would like to join them for lunch. Sora asked us and we brought her pizza & cinnamon sticks...ummmmm!

She loves her daddy! And every time we get to spend lunch with her, she'd rather hang out with us than go play with her friends. It's wonderful having children that love to be around us.

Ginger Bread House

Okay so I'm working backwards in time. Being pregnant I haven't wanted to do much so I've neglected our blog site. So I'm starting to get back into the swing...I think. So bare with me.

12/13/09
Dad started out trying to help the girls but handed the job over to me.

Funny thing...I didn't realize I put the roof on upside down until I started putting the icing on top.

It was hard to squeeze the icing out of that tube.

The girls putting the heart onto of the Christmas tree together.

They each decorated a ginger bread man and ate it.

The three of us and our finished product.

The mess.

And there it is. I'm not really sure I like doing this. I don't know why but it was a little hard. Maybe because I'm pregnant and just wasn't in the mood. Oh well we did it and the girls were happy. So I guess that's what matters.
