Artist for a Day!

So I took the girls to Artist for a Day. This is a really cool place where you can pick out a ceramic to paint, they fire it for you, then you pick it up a week later. We've been here several times and have a great time each time we go. Problem is the girls always end up waiting for me because it takes me forever to paint. Sorry girls! I'm just a perfectionist or maybe too detailed oriented. Who knows. OCD maybe? I haven't picked up the finished product yet and the girls are dying to see the results. Patience girls...soon. Why does it take a week? Argh! I'm ready to see what they look like now! Did I say it was the girls who were dying to see them?

Here are the pictures of the girls hard at work to make a masterpiece.

Vegetable Garden

So here are some up-dated pictures of our vegetable garden. Things are growing so quickly that we aren't able to eat it all. So we've been giving to family and friends. It's just so cool to be able to say here is some broccoli from our own garden and it looks like it's store bought.

Professor is a Genius

I had to copy this post from my sisters blog site but an email my brother sent me as well. It's amazing how simple these could be.

If somebody is unable to understand THIS explanation, I have serious doubts about their ability to even function in society, much less run our country!

As the late Adrian Rogers said, "you cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Professor is a Genius

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class.

--------------------------------------------

That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that.
