Happy Anniversary to Us!

July 8, 2007 Rocky & I finally made it official. We married in Reno, Nevada. So to honor our anniversary I thought I would post pictures of when we got married. Rocky and I have been to many places to get married and each time he wasn't ready.

We went down to Reno for an all Islander softball tournament. In which Rockys team took first place. Anyways, it was Sunday around 6:00 pm when Rocky said, "Okay, let's do it. If you don't marry me now, I might never get married." So of course we asked our hotel where the nearest chapel was. We went to the chapel and they said we needed a marriage license. So here I thought, great it's a Sunday and no court house is going to be opened. Lo and behold, it's Reno. The court house was opened until midnight. Thank Heavens!

We rushed to the court house, got our license, went back to the chapel and tied the knot. I guess this time he was ready. Now we have been happily married for two years but together for a total of eleven years. Wow, time flies!

All Islander Softball Tournament 2

So there were two contests (strongest arm & fastest man). Rocky decided to do the strongest arm contest. The idea is to throw the ball from outfield (maybe 200 yards or so) and hit a board that is behind home plate. You get five tries.

If you hit the board on the throw it's 5 points, one bounce 3 points, dribble in 1 point. It sounds pretty easy, right? Well that's what a lot of the guys thought.

Not only do you need to be able to throw the distance but you also need to be accurate. Quite a few guys were surprised when they didn't even hit the board once. Needless to say my baby didn't win. But he sure did put on a show for everyone. Hence the no shirt with his buddy. Prior to him throwing, he also did push ups and sit ups. What a ham!

This would be a few other times, Rocky distracted players. He would throw them off their game by lifting his shirt up to show his tummy or his pant leg to show his white legs. Anything he could think of. The third picture is actually the last play of the championship game. He put his shirt up over his nipple and made the batter pop up. The crowd sure does enjoy Rocky's entertainment. It's all good fun.

Just one of the series of pictures I got of a good play. Love it when the frames work out to show the action.

Holiday Preparations

This 4th of July Rocky hosted the "All Islander Softball Tournament" here in Boise. So there was a lot of things we needed to do to prepare. One was making lumpia. So here are the girls (Tashy and Putput) helping me out. I didn't get many pictures of all the preparations so these will have to do. But many thanks also to Jeannie, Elisha, Summer and all the boys for helping me!

I really enjoy working in my yard and making it beautiful. It's a challenge on trying to figure out what plants and flowers will work where. Especially when you need to consider sun light, soil and watering. But it's definitely something I take pride in and love doing. If only I had more time, my gardens would be immaculate. This part of the gardens has some really lovely scents as well. It's wonderful to walk through this area and smell slight hints of cinnamon and chocolate mint, along with the stargazer lilies and roses. Ummm, heaven.

The pictures don't really do it justice and looks so much more inviting in person. But you get the general idea.

I think this part of my garden has gotten to the point where I don't really need to weed it and it has flowers and greenery from spring to fall. It's only taken me three years. Now, for the rest of the gardens.
